Terrible Experience Do Not Buy LG Refrigerators I bought my LG refrigerator in 2022 and it has been nothing but problems ever since. In just 2 years Ive had Center Point come out 4 different times for cooling issues. The most recent time I was told its a compressor issue which they admitted is a very common problem with LG refrigerators. They advised me to call LG directly. When I did LG scheduled me 4 days out leaving my family of 5 without a working refrigerator for a full week. During that time all the food in my fridge and freezer went bad this has happened multiple times now. When they finally came out they fixed it but told us not to open the fridge for 48 hours. Even after waiting the ice maker still doesnt work. I called LG again and spent over an hour on the phone trying to reset the ice maker and now Im just left waiting and hoping it might start working. Through all of this LG has shown zero care no apologies no compensation no incentives nothing. Bottom line: LG refrigerators are unreliable and not worth the headache. Save yourself the stress wasted food and money buy anything else but LG.

So - LG has a 10-year warranty on the compressor. Thats what sold us. Hopefully this will help anyone else looking to purchase an LG fridge. What LG doesnt tell you is after your warranty we bought a 5-year extended warranty through Home Depot is that if the compressor fails they charge you a $398.99 FLAT REPAIR RATE. Our compressor failed at year 4 3/4. The compressor was replaced free of charge under the Home Depot Warranty. Two years after that repair the compressor failed again. This is when we learned about LGs FLAT REPAIR RATE. The technician ordered in advance a new compressor to be shipped to our home before he even arrived. Two years after that repair the compressor failed again. This is when we learned about LGs FLAT REPAIR RATE. The technician ordered in advance a new compressor to be shipped to our home before he even arrived. Prior to contacting LG for service/repair we contacted several appliance repair shops. No one would touch the repair for the compressor. Dont even bother trying to send a complaint on their website to the VP of customer service. I wasted my time submitting a complaint and received nothing in response. In addition the black stainless steel peeled off after a year of use. This is considered cosmetic and was not covered under either the LG or Home Depot warranty. I will not buy LG ever again. I hope this review will help others.

Had this fridge for just under 4 years before it stopped working for the most part. All the lights and little display work great it just doesnt cool or freeze anymore realized it had stopped working when everything in the freezer defrosted and went bad and then checked the fridge to notice that also was warm.

Durability and Design is Bad

I would 100 not recommend this fridge or any LG product. Our fridge is not even a year old and the handle broke off at the top. I got hold of Home Depot from whom I purchased the fridge and they told me to contact LG directly. I was on the phone for 45 minutes and 25 mins of that was trying to get a supervisor on the line. They told me they would send a new part out that was covered under the warranty but will not send someone to take the previous handle off Its still attached at the bottom and put the new handle on. They barely offered a solution other than calling someone local. I am very disappointed with their customer service and design. When this breaks entirely in a year it will be the last LG appliance we ever buy. For context this fridge is in an office of 25 people and we are only here about 2 days a week. We bought this fridge less than a year ago.

Originally this was a 5 star review. I absolutely loved this fridge while it worked. But less than 4 years later I now have a useless room temperature eyesore due to their terrible compressors. DONT BELIEVE THE WARRANTY. Its been well over a week since my fridge broke and I have a repairman lined up but they still refuse to send him the replacement parts he needs until they call him and a week later they havent called him. Its not a warranty if people have to spend weeks without a functional appliance because of bureaucracy.

I just purchased this refrigerator and when it was delivered I noticed there are 2 holes with plastic plugs on the right side. This is reasonable since you can reverse the door orientation by placing the refrigerator handle on the left side if desired. HOWEVER in the photo shown on LGs website when I was considering buying it it was NOT in the photo IMO this is deceptive advertising Also it takes too long to get to the default temperature of 0 and 37f. I am considering returning it and replace it with a different brand like GE appliances

Not a good warranty and lacking

LG doesnt really care if you have a service problem with one of their appliances. They engage in a lot of advertising but when it comes down to trying to get help for a product this under warranty its a nightmare. They do everything in their power to get out of fixing the product making tons of excuses. The first thing to go was the shelving shelves break very easily and youll find that youll have to search high and low. Try to find shelving that fits and its about $300 which seems kind of crazy had some issues around the temperature being maintained biggest its very difficult to clean the coils the way that this is set up. Its very difficult to clean the pan or access it. My favorite thing is the ice maker. Im not overly thrilled with this unit however I might may have to buy another one and thats only because its right the highest on consumer reports but if you look at each category each one has problems.

Suspect Compressor Reliability

At 4 years 3 months unit diagnosed with bad compressor. Never had a refrigerator fail or replaced in less than 10 years. Reportedly compressor failure is common for this model within first 5 years. Didnt trust reliability of a replacement compressor so I opted to buy another brand bottom freezer refrigerator. Expensive lesson.

WARNING: HORRIBLE PRODUCT/ HORRIBLE CUST. SERVICE

I bought this refrigerator August 2021 and it quit cooling May 4 2025. LG has had the WORST customer service. I contacted them on May 4th about getting it repaired. They continually put me off and said it would be 3-5 business day then 3-5 more business days and that finally someone would call me about the repair. It is June 12 2025 and no one ever came to repair my refrigerator. When I finally got tired of waiting on someone to come repair my refrigerator I asked for a refund to replace it myself. They insulted me by offering me $800 and it wasnt until I threw a fit that they finally offered me $1270.00 in store credit. I was finally able to order a new refrigerator today but there is no telling when it will come in and if it will last longer than my last one. They also did not offer to reimburse my lost groceries and I was unable to replace the refriderator that I lost instead I had to buy a cheaper one through LG. I will never willing purchase an LG product again and I highly recommend that you save yourself the money and headache of dealing with LG. If I could I would give them zero stars.

Weve had this refrigerator for just over 5 years. We have had to replace the compressor 6 times in 5 years. Our factory warranty is now over so the next one time it goes out we are just gonna set it out for the dump. Terrible product terrible customer service a complete waste of $1600 dollars

Three years old. compressor died. had to throw out lots of food. I will never buy or recommend an LG again. After paying 1700 $ for a fridge we are expected to have a backup fridge. Two weeks to get a new compressor.

Broke after a month - absolute garbage

I purchased on black friday. Delivered 12/17. Broke 1/23. LG assured me that they would repair it and reimburse my food loss. Well guess what they did neither. Thank goodness I bought the Best Buy Plus membership and was able to return it. But LG---after promising to reimburse me for all the lost food said that because they never repaired it they dont have to pay for my food. Just know if you have a unit that breaks almost immediately broken defroster which will take 9-10 days to repair multiple parts ordered to multiple addresses just know that LG expects you to wait that long for a working fridge. After that they might consider submitting a form to reimburse you for $900 in groceries. I titled my review with absolute garbage because thats what my fridge was full of in 36 short days of using this appliance.

We loved it u til the compressor died after two years of use. It was a hassle working with LG to get a technician assigned to put in a new compressor but finally it happened. IF nothing g breaks again on Thos refrigerator I would say that it is a great refrigerator that is a big if though. Fingers crossed.

This as delivered by Lowes not working. But the issue was subtle and we didnt notice until after the 48 hr return window. Yay Lowes customer service /s. The freezer fluctuates betwee 0 and 25 degrees and the refrigerator fluctuates between 33 and 39. So we really cant keep much in the freezer other than ice. LG tried to assign a repair shop but they cancelled the order because they didnt have a refrigeration tech. Then it took a few more days for LG to find a new repair provider and another week for them to show up. Then another week to order a fan. That did not fix the issue. Now it has been 2 months since we bought this and this is still not resolved. the repair shop sent a new control board but apparently they cant replace that without also replacing a panel which has been backordered for weeks. How poorly is this thing engineered that you cant replace a control board without also replacing a panel? Shouldnt a panel just come off and go back on? But if that is the case then they should have the parts avaialble. So for now we have $1500 a refrigerator with an ice-maker but not freezer. Not exactly a good value for the money.

Your answer to a known defect with your product is to tell your customers to buy another door? We paid $1700 for a refrigerator that - after the 1 year cosmetic warranty expired - all of the sudden started to show small dents in the bottom refrigerator door. Turns out these small dents are a known defect due to issues with the insulation between the external and internal door panel. LG knows about it and refuses to make it right.

Icemaker makes chemicl/plastic tasting cubes.

Ice tasted like a mix of chemicals plastic for first 2 weeks. Decided to change the filter but that was no improvement. Now the tray wont even fill up but instead shoots water out of this plastic port in the back. So a month and a half in and not a single good ice cube has been produced. Thus the 1 star.

Icemaker makes cubes taste like chemical/plastic

For the first 2 weeks the ice tasted like chemicals plastic. We decided it might be the filter so we put in a new filter with the same results. Now it makes no ice at all but instead shoots water out of a plastic port in the back instead of filling the tray. The only good news is that we longer have bad tasting ice. Bought this a month and a half ago.

We absolutely Love this refrigerator/ freezer. It is the best refrigerator we have ever owned both operationally physically. Our last refrigerator barely kept produce for a few days this one keeps our produce Beautifully. It is so spacious easily accessible. My mom is 78 loves the ease of the botyom 2 drawers the bottom freezer. Its easy to clean is just wonderful We would own this model over n over again I hope it lasts for a long time

Very roomy refrigerator AND freezer

We purchased the day after Christmas as our old Samsung broke down on Christmas Eve. I had read reviews about LG and that it is a trusted brand so we decided to go with it. Weve only had it since the 31st of December delivery date and so far 13 days into its use it has done well. I do like the very roomy interior. And the ice maker is in the bottom freezer as it should be Our Samsung required 7 new icemakers in the first 5 years. No icemaker should be on top inside the refrigerator section. I just wish the meat/cheese drawer was a little taller height. Very roomy drawer shelf space. We are happy with it so far.

Refrigerator worked great for 3 years until the condenser went up and I lost all the food in my fridge freezer. They did come out pretty quickly to fix it at no cost to me. But I feel like for all the money you spend it should last more than 3 years.

If there was an option for ZERO STARS I would have given that. Our LG refrigerator is a piece of crap compressor died after only 3 years.It was a nightmare working with LG trying to find someone to repair etc..no one wants to work on LG or work with LG.Umbrella Appliances Williamsburg VA came out and put in a new compressor.Prior to that we lost $400 in food that spoiled when the refrigerator died. We ended up buying a dorm sized refrigerator/freezer so thst we could have food in the house.it got real old and expensive eating out.Customer Service was a nightmare hours and hours on the phone.Dishwasher a.so died..another nightmare and washer isnt working properly.Would NOT recommendend LG.

Finally called sears. They came outccharged me 160 for viisit to tell me it shoukf all be fixed on warranty. I know need my 160 trip fee back. Thet dont leave a hard copy so i can get my money back.
